SLIDELL, LOUISIANA
Slidell is located on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain.
It is only a thirty minute drive to the city of New Orleans to the west or the Biloxi Coast and Casinos to the east. Today, while Slidell is close enough to New Orleans to be a part of all the excitement and culture, it is also just far enough away to have a small, sleepy-town feel. This great little city built around the railroad tracks is surrounded by not only Lake Pontchartrain, but many rivers and bayous. A day in the boat on Slidell's many waterways is an experience no person should go through life without. There are many local tours to catch, I highly recommend you do! Whether you are coming to Slidell to visit or to hang your hat for a while, you won't be disappointed.
